Guide
How to add your W3Schools certificate to LinkedIn and your CV
Short answer
On LinkedIn, go to your profile, click Add profile section, then Licenses & certifications. Name: W3Schools Certified [Technology] Developer. Issuing organization: W3Schools. Issue date: the date on your certificate. Leave the expiry empty (it never expires). Credential ID: the code on your certificate. Credential URL: your verify.w3schools.com link. Takes two minutes.
Before you start
Open your certificate PDF from your W3Schools account. You need two things from it: the verification URL (verify.w3schools.com followed by your code, also in the QR code) and that code itself, which doubles as your credential ID.
On LinkedIn
- Open your profile and click Add profile section.
- Choose Recommended, then Add licenses & certifications.
- Fill in the fields:
- Name: W3Schools Certified HTML Developer (use the exact title on your certificate; add the level in brackets if you like, for example "(Advanced)")
- Issuing organization: W3Schools. Pick the W3Schools company page from the dropdown so the logo shows.
- Issue date: the month and year on the certificate
- Expiration date: leave empty and tick "This credential does not expire"
- Credential ID: the code from the certificate
- Credential URL: https://verify.w3schools.com/YOURCODE
- Skills: add the technology (HTML, Python, SQL) so it counts toward your skills section
- Save. Then post about it: a short update with the certificate image gets you in front of recruiters who follow the skill.
On your CV
Add a Certifications section near Education:
W3Schools Certified Python Developer (Advanced), March 2026
Verify: verify.w3schools.com/YOURCODE
Keep the verification link. Recruiters who can check in one click trust it more than a line of text, and it saves them an email.
In your email signature or portfolio
Link the certificate name to the verification URL. On a portfolio site, embed the certificate image with the link, or add a small "Certified" badge that opens it.
